Katy Weidenfeller is the Managing Director for People and Operations, North America at the Nature Conservancy. In this role, she is responsible for leading the development of business processes and personnel strategy to enable maximum contribution and effective implementation of the Conservancy’s shared conservation agenda in North America. She leads the development of strategic partnerships with the North America Leadership Team, World Office, and Senior Leaders to establish and implement the North America Region’s people priorities which include talent development and mobility, as well as diversity and inclusion. She also provides overall direction and leadership for regional business processes such as conservation priority management, finance, and human resources.
Prior to this role, Katy was the Director of Strategy for External Affairs, where she helped to lead the Conservancy’s public policy and corporate engagement efforts. Before joining the Nature Conservancy, Katy worked for ExxonMobil for 16 years in a variety of program management, technical, and planning positions. Katy has a mechanical engineering degree from Rice University, and lives in Alexandria, VA with her husband and her two children.
