NVCT'S NEARBY NATURE PHOTO CONTEST
It's once again time for NVCT's Nearby Nature Photo Contest! From March 22 to April 22, 2025 (Earth Day), we welcome submissions from any amateur or hobbyist photographers, including Northern Virginia's youth. The photographers who entered their images into our contest display a love of nature and an appreciation of how photography can inspire people to care about the life and land of the outdoors and to work passionately for their protection. All submissions will be displayed in a gallery this summer and participants will be invited to a reception to celebrate their work.
Prizes awarded for first place in each category:

People in the Outdoors - These photos should feature people out and enjoying nature.

Spring Renewal - Spring renewal can be shown in flowers, animals, and landscapes returning to green.

Streams, Creeks, and Water - This category may be the most obvious; water creates and sustains life, and we would like for you to capture its beauty.

Smartphone Snaps - Any beautiful nature photo you capture with your smartphone should be submitted to this category.

How to Submit
Please Note:
Submitted photos must be taken within our service area. This includes: Arlington, Caroline, Fairfax, Fauquier, King George, Loudoun, Prince William, Spotsylvania, and Stafford counties; as well as nearby independent cities including Alexandria, City of Fairfax, Falls Church, Fredericksburg, Manassas, and Manassas Park.
How to Enter
1) Choose or take some awesome nature photos! Participants can submit up to four photos.
2) Download and complete the entry form and photograph release linked below.
3) Email the forms and photo(s) to awilt@nvct.org before midnight, April 22, 2025.
*Please put your name, the category, and the title of your photo(s) somewhere in the email
4) Look out for our announcement of the winners in May! Judges will review the submissions for their creativity, content, composition, and originality and award the top photos.
